Commercial insurance brokerage Navacord has announced the addition of Toronto-based Future Benefits Management Inc., (FBMI), to its growing Broker Partner team.

FBMI was founded in 1995 and focuses exclusively on group benefits. As part of Navacord, the firm will become part of JDIMI Consulting, Navacord’s Broker Partner dedicated to group benefits and retirement consulting.

“For more than 20 years we’ve been delivering exceptional service and value to our clients and are looking to take that commitment to the next level,” commented John McLaren, managing partner of FBMI. “Joining forces with Navacord is the perfect solution as it gives us additional infrastructure and security allowing us to offer more under the banner of JDIMI Consulting.”

The deal will deepen Navacord’s specialization across its Broker Partners. Navacord president and CEO, Shawn DeSantis, said the addition of FBMI’s skilled specialists to JDIMI Consulting will further strengthen the opportunity for Navacord’s Broker Partners to “offer a holistic approach and unmatched suite of insurance services to our commercial clients”.

John Cochrane, president of JDIMI Consulting, mirrored DeSantis’ sentiments. He commented: “We’re pleased to welcome John McLaren, Sean Gayton and their team. Navacord’s deep specialization across its Broker Partners means we’re able to combine our technical knowledge and industry insight to craft the best group benefits and retirement solutions for our clients.”

Navacord’s addition of FBMI, effective June 03, might not be the brokerage’s last foray into the group benefits space. DeSantis said the company is “actively seeking” to expand its group benefits and retirement consulting services across Canada.
