Major insurance brokerage Hub International continues to strengthen the capabilities of its specialty practices with the acquisition of Salvatore Insurance Brokerage Ltd.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Sackville, Nova Scotia, Salvatore Insurance is a family-owned commercial insurance provider, specializing in the transportation industry. The firm’s acquisition bolsters Hub’s existing capabilities in commercial auto and fleet.

Christina Salvatore, president of Salvatore Insurance, and her team will join Hub’s Atlantic Region group. They will report to Susan Murphy, Hub’s president of Ontario operations.

Hub has been actively expanding its footprint in Canada, snapping up several brokerage firms in recent months. Last February, it acquired Saskatchewan-based full-service insurance brokerage Galon Insurance Brokers. At the end of 2020, Hub also acquired specialty insurers Prince Albert Insurance and Seymour Alper.
