Westland Insurance Group, one of the fastest-growing independent property and casualty (P&C) insurance brokers in Canada, has continued its 2021 brokerage acquisition spree with the addition of Church Eaton Insurance in Calgary, Alberta, and Hook Lafrance in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Church Eaton Insurance provides insurance programs for small to large commercial clients, with specialist capabilities within key industry verticals, including contractors, surety bonding, commercial property, manufacturing, petroleum, and technology.

Westland president and chief operating officer Jamie Lyons said the Calgary-based firm “brings niche commercial expertise […] adding further depth to our rapidly expanding national commercial lines platform.”

Meanwhile, Hook Lafrance brings expertise in all segments of the P&C insurance business, with strong relationships in the Regina market.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Church Eaton and Hook Lafrance to the Westland family,” Lyons added. “Both operations are long-standing, highly regarded brokerages that align with and augment our distribution network in the Prairies, which continues to be a strategic region of focus for Westland as we seek to bring more solutions to Canadians coast-to-coast.”

The two new deals bring Westland up to 195 locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
