Chubb has appointed Keith Higdon as division president of its risk management solutions division, ESIS Inc.

ESIS provides a full range of sophisticated risk management services. A release explained that other than integrated absence management services, the division also offers workers’ compensation and liability claims handling.

In his new role, Higdon will be in charge of directing the management of ESIS. His duties include pushing strategies for product development, customer service and relationships, sales and profit and loss (P&L) performance. He will be based in Chicago and will report to Chubb North America Major Accounts division president Matthew Merna.

Higdon has over two decades of insurance industry experience, having recently served as senior vice-president of partnership services at ESIS. He began his career as a consultant in 1996 and has since held a number of leadership positions in the third-party administrator space. Higdon joined ACE in 2014 and had spent some time with ACE Group Claims prior to Chubb’s acquisition.

He holds two bachelor of science degrees in social sciences from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in information technology and management from Illinois Institute of Technology. Higdon is also currently a board member (and former chairman) for the Center for Employee Health Studies, which is associated with the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Higdon’s promotion comes as the previous division president, Joe Vasquez, assumes the role of Chubb Group senior vice president of Global Accident & Health.

“Keith’s background and expertise in developing claims and risk management solutions for self-insured entities that allow them to achieve excellent claim outcomes while reducing their total cost and risk makes him a natural fit for this role,” commented Merna. “This is yet another example of Chubb’s deep bench of talent, and I am confident that under his direction, ESIS will continue to grow through the creation of market-leading products and services.”
