After participating in an insurance training program that involved continuing education and rotating through various commercial lines, Jacki Detablan realized the industry’s potential for professional development and education. Today, as vice-president of specialty at CNA Canada, what she enjoys most is the variety of people she interacts with and the endless challenges that present themselves. “As the world changes, insurance evolves, and this is a big part of what makes the industry interesting and engaging for me,” she says.
For several years, Detablan has been promoting thought leadership in the cyber community. She is also involved in training front-line underwriters, volunteering and mentorship, and diversity and inclusion opportunities. “As a leader, I’ve seen and experienced how supporting the growth of others can have a positive impact on one’s own development,” she says. “When you contribute to success around you, your career path becomes much more of a natural progression. Team success translates into personal success for yourself and others and is a much more rewarding experience for all.”
