Last June, Brendan Lyons was promoted to commercial underwriting manager at Economical Insurance, where he manages a large book of business and strives to execute profitable underwriting practices to ensure sustainable retention and growth.
Lyons joined the insurance industry in 2013 in an entry-level claims role before moving into varied positions within his company’s auto physical damage claims team. He was eventually promoted to a claims leadership role, managing several direct reports across four branches and managing claims intake during catastrophes such as the Fort McMurray wildfire.
At Economical, Lyons is engaged in several committees; outside of the office, he spends time volunteering at the Vancouver Food Bank and working with a substance abuse group.
