Looking to reduce redundant data entry in the commercial lines quoting process, insurer RSA Canada and commercial lines platform developer Policy Works have collaborated on a new data exchange initiative that simplifies the process.

The new commercial lines data exchange initiative leverages technology built on Policy Works’ “Smart Doc” API, a release said. With the new data exchange system, RSA Canada underwriters can import data directly into their underwriting systems using the API – no need to retype or copy policy data.

The technology will allow brokers to download quote details, as well as a PDF copy of the quote, back into their Policy Works system. It will also enable brokers to retrieve customer renewal data, which includes underwriting and coverage details.

“RSA Canada has been a Certified Data-Exchange Partner since 2008. We’ve collaborated with them on several connectivity strategies over the years and we’re very excited to bring this new technology platform to our broker partners across Canada,” said Policy Works president John Eastly.

“Helping our broker partners and underwriters work better together is key to our shared success,” added RSA Canada vice-president of commercial operations Rosalind Staples-Simpson. “Our commercial lines integration with Policy Works helps everyone focus on high-value work aligned with driving our mutual growth ambitions, instead of re-typing information into different systems.”
