A class action has been lodged against this government insurer but it has vowed to fight it in court.

''Meanwhile Southern Response said it would continue to work hard to settle individual claims as fairly and as quickly as possible.''

7 weeks ago we were sent a letter by a claim 'specialist' at Southern Response that said they would be in touch within 4 weeks to introduce themselves and explain how the process will work from here.

3 weeks past the 4 week deadline and still no contact is neither fair nor quick.

Surely the easiest defence to this action is that the Insurer had no money and the policyholders are lucky the government picked up the tab. Could have been worse, could have been another Western Pacific.
