When is the business community going to realise that it is they that need to be proactive to be resilient in times of disaster. The business community at large needs to stop putting their hand out looking for solutions and capital from the government. If companies can not organize BCP for a single event occurring to their business it is of real concern that they can not focus on a disaster. Our industry need to be proactive in advising showing clients how to be resilient rather than waiting for Insurance council and government to get their act together. If we wait for that to happen we might as well put to the nation the time wasting referendum to get every ones input.
If you have a house close to the sea and you know the water levels are increasing hello - move the house - don't wait for it to happen and then cry poor and say its the governments fault or the insurance industry for not having enough financial reserves.
