Business suits and professional services go hand-in-hand, and come 5pm a tidal wave of greys, blacks and whites pouring out of office buildings is a common sight. But there is another way: “A bit of colour won’t kill you”, says our trendy professional.

    Insurance fashion crimes....
Open - toed shoes & socks.
    Shiny - bummed trousers.
    Tight as belly strainers.
Soup & coffee ties .... NOT seen at the recent NTB Club Christmas drinkies!

Err Craig, although I agree with your thoughts on grey and black suits, you might have listened a little too intently to the salespeople at the shop, who are there simply to agree with what you think.

If wearing a striped suit, plain shirts are always key.

I'll also add that stripes are best left un-mixed, i.e. striped suit calls for plain shirt and possibly a spotted tie, I'd do the same with the socks as well.

Most of the guys I went to school with also wear stripes...but tend to be horizontal rather than vertical...

Orange jumpsuits are also in with this lot.
