As an Account Manager in the Commercial/Corporate Team, Kirsty Spendlow’s main responsibilites are servicing a book of clients, focussing on the existing client relationships and also looking for new business opportunities. She looks after clients in a wide variety of industries such as Tourism, Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction and Property, among others. Her key responsibilities include client relationships and learning about their businesses in order to provide them with the right advice around determining where their risks lie, and how they can be mitigated – through insurance or otherwise. Spendlow also serves as first point of contact for clients when they have a loss, and is there to assist them through the claims procedure and ensure that they are getting the best outcomes with their insurer.
Spendlow is interested in mentoring and being a people leader. She would like to see a much more diverse and inclusive culture within our industry – changes are being made all the time but, she is quick to point out that there is still a way to go. On a personal level though, she has enjoyed seeing her career progress within an exciting industry, and gained considerable satisfaction from helping clients with tricky claims situations, especially with liability and cyber claims.
