In his first two years at Matt Jensen Insurance Brokers, Ray Dunbar acted as claims manager, implementing and refining new standard operating procedures – to the point where he could step aside and other staff could step in seamlessly. This greatly increased workplace efficiency in the workplace, and afterwards Dunbar turned his hand to lead the domestic team in transferring the entire book of rural/lifestyle business to a new Underwriter. Dunbar’s contribution was invaluable, negotiating new and bespoke wordings for the company, bringing his considerable rural knowledge to bear. Collectively, Ray has grown the Rural and Travel book twofold since assuming responsibility.
Today, Dunbar also leads the team on Travel risks, and has forged a key relationship with a preferred Travel insurer provider, benefiting the company’s business immensely. Additionally, he supplements the MJIB team with commercial risk management advice. Currently, his goal is to upskill in the Professional Liability risk management space, to complete what would be an entire portfolio of Fire & General Brokering skillets, a remarkable achievement in just two years.
