Originally headhunted from another company to become a Senior Underwriter in NZI’s National Office Referral team, Steph Wigg was making a name for herself in the insurance industry almost since her first day on the job. After 4 years in the role, Wigg moved to her current position – Corporate Trading as Senior Motor UW/BDM.
Committed to ensuring the sustainability of the industry – specifically the transport sector – Steph Wigg clearly demonstrates her passion for insurance by the amount of time and effort she places into her job and other activities. Regularly attending and contributing to events, seminars and conferences, Wigg works to ensure the industry as a whole remains well-informed and relevant. It’s an attitude that’s also reflected in her free time, which she uses to mentor her younger peers and colleagues, sharing the valuable knowledge she has gained over her years in the industry. Wigg is well aware that insurance can be a daunting industry, so having someone like her willing to share their knowledge and offer guidance is invaluable.
Looking ahead, Wigg sees herself moving into people leadership roles – and hopefully one day taking the top spot as CEO.
