Sandro Kriesch is Managing Director at Acrisure Re Corporate Advisory & Solutions (‘ARCAS’), based in Zurich, heading the ILS operations. He provides expert consulting on third-party capital, with a particular focus on catastrophe bonds, and advises clients on structural design, issuance strategy, pricing, spread optimization, and market timing. In addition, Sandro facilitates catastrophe bond issuance through Special Purpose Insurers, leveraging his extensive experience to deliver strategic and innovative capital market solutions.
With 30 years of experience in the reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) industry, Sandro has held senior roles at Swiss Re, Horizon 21, Twelve Capital (which he co-founded), and IQUW. His career has encompassed natural perils modelling, property catastrophe underwriting, P&C balance sheet modelling, ILS portfolio management, origination of collateralized reinsurance, and operations for an ILS fund manager. As a portfolio manager, he was responsible for various private ILS and catastrophe bond portfolios with a total AuM of USD 1.08 billion. From 2019 to 2023, Sandro led Kriesch Advisors, consulting across the ILS space, where he continues to actively advise a startup board.
Sandro holds a Master of Science degree from ETH Zürich and an MBA dual degree from the Universities of Berne and Rochester (New York). He is a Registered Representative of Acrisure Re Corporate Advisory & Solutions, LLC.
