Andy De Ganseman has moved into a client development role within Marsh Risk's reinsurance captives practice, according to a post on his LinkedIn profile. He is based in Luxembourg and covers European markets.

De Ganseman was previously reinsurance captives manager for the Iberian market at Marsh Risk, a position he held from January 2024. The new role took effect in May 2026 and covers client development for reinsurance captives across European markets. In his LinkedIn post, De Ganseman said he was stepping into the role with the "same approach, same energy."

The move broadens his geographical remit within Marsh Risk. His previous role centred on the development and management of reinsurance captives in the Spanish market. The expanded position covers European markets from a Luxembourg base.

De Ganseman joined Marsh Risk in October 2020 as reinsurance captives account manager. The role covered end-to-end management of reinsurance captive structures including governance, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance. He moved into the Iberian-focused management role in January 2024.

From Iberia to European markets

Before joining Marsh, De Ganseman held a reinsurance and international business role at Ocaso in Madrid. He also held an internal control, risk management, and Solvency II position at ASEMAS Mutua de Seguros y Reaseguros a Prima Fija. Earlier positions included an insurance analyst role at Santander Mediación and a reinsurance role at Asefa Seguros y Reaseguros.

De Ganseman holds an insurance MBA from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and a master's in finance from ESERP Business and Law School. His academic background spans insurance accounting, Solvency II, reinsurance, and risk management. He has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.

Luxembourg is one of the two largest captive domiciles in Europe by entity count. The jurisdiction had 197 captives in 2024, tied with Guernsey, according to AM Best data. The domicile has been an established hub for reinsurance captive structures serving European parent companies.
