Specialist re/insurance broker Miller has announced the appointment of Edwin Staudenmaier (pictured above) as head of information security.

Staudenmaier’s appointment takes effect immediately, and he will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s information security strategy and operations.

With over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, Staudenmaier brings expertise gained from working with organizations such as Deloitte and Crossword Cybersecurity Consulting. His background includes defining cybersecurity strategies, implementing target operating models, and developing risk management solutions tailored to various organizational needs. 

Staudenmaier’s career spans roles in cybersecurity program management, policy development, and third-party risk assessment.

He has also contributed to advancing operational processes and training initiatives. His professional qualifications include applying security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001:2022, and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework. 

Staudenmaier’s most recent role was associate director at SysGroup, following a transfer from Crossword Consulting in late 2024. Before that, he held leadership positions at Deloitte, where he worked in IT risk advisory, audit, and controls remediation across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. 

Miller said that Staudenmaier’s expertise aligns with the company’s goals to enhance its cybersecurity infrastructure and manage risk effectively across its operations.

“Edwin brings valuable experience and a proactive approach to making cybersecurity effective for organizations of various sizes and risk profiles,” the company said in a LinkedIn post. “Edwin delivers exceptional client service and has a strong commitment to continuous improvement, as well as holding several professional accolades.”

Staudenmaier is based in London and will lead initiatives to strengthen cybersecurity measures and manage stakeholder relationships.

In other recent developments, the re/insurance specialist also announced the appointment of Elizabeth McGonagle as head of power for the Asia Pacific region.
