Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) has named Jayson Bronchetti (pictured above) as executive vice president of investments, marking a strategic leadership shift as the company intensifies focus on its investment operations and global strategy.

Bronchetti, who joins effective March 2, will oversee RGA's investment management strategy and report to president and chief executive Tony Cheng. The appointment comes as RGA prepares for a leadership transition in its investment division following Leslie Barbi's planned departure on April 15, 2026.

Barbi, who has led RGA's investment function since 2020, built a substantial operation overseeing approximately 250 investment professionals across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and other regions. She established the strategic direction for RGA's global asset platform and portfolio management framework.

Before joining RGA, Barbi served at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, where she managed $120 billion in fixed income portfolios, following earlier positions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Pacific Investment Management Company.

Bronchetti arrives from Lincoln Financial, where he served as executive vice president and chief investment officer, overseeing more than $300 billion in assets across general accounts and a separate account mutual fund complex.

Beyond traditional investments, Bronchetti brings proven expertise in environmental, social and governance strategy. In 2022, he expanded his role at Lincoln to oversee the chief risk office and chief sustainability office, driving enterprise risk transparency and ESG policy direction.

His career spans J.P. Morgan, where he worked in debt capital markets, along with roles in private equity, fixed income asset management, trading and investment banking at Macquarie Investments and Bank of America.

"Jayson's leadership and ability to pair strategic vision and industry knowledge with rigorous investment execution make him an exceptional addition to RGA's executive team," Cheng said, noting Bronchetti's background in investment management and risk oversight aligns with RGA's stakeholder priorities.

Bronchetti holds a bachelor's degree in finance with a minor in economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and graduated from the Wharton School's Executive Development Program. He is a CFA Society of Philadelphia member and holds Series 7, 63 and 79 securities licenses.
