SiriusPoint Ltd. has awarded $3,000 in free shares to eligible employees across its global offices through a one-time initiative called the Free Shares Award, the company announced on its official LinkedIn page.
The Bermuda-headquartered insurance and reinsurance firm, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SPNT, said the award was intended for colleagues who are not already enrolled in its existing long-term incentive plan.
“Recognizing and rewarding our people is key, which is why we’ve granted $3,000 in free shares to eligible colleagues through our one-time Free Shares Award,” the company said in the post. “It reflects what we’ve achieved together and allows colleagues who are not already in our long-term incentive plan to share in that success.”
“Thank you to the SiriusPoint team for everything you’ve helped build,” the company added. “It’s been wonderful to see colleagues across our global offices coming together today to mark the occasion.”
SiriusPoint was formed in 2021 through the merger of Sirius Group and Third Point Re, with roots in the industry dating back 85 years. The company is headquartered in Bermuda, with offices in New York, London, Stockholm, and other locations, and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
As of early May 2026, SiriusPoint had approximately 1,099 employees across nearly 150 countries and a market capitalization of $2.72 billion.
The Free Shares Award is separate from SiriusPoint’s long-term incentive plan, which covers senior executives and key personnel. Earlier this year, the company granted chief financial officer James J. McKinney 15,180 restricted stock units under the SiriusPoint Ltd. 2023 Omnibus Incentive Plan, vesting in equal annual installments over three years.
In April, AM Best and S&P Global Ratings upgraded SiriusPoint’s insurance subsidiaries to A-level ratings, citing improvements in the company’s capital position, operating performance, underwriting discipline, and earnings strength.
