VIG Re has appointed Hong-Wha Ling (pictured above) as chief people officer, a newly created role aimed at strengthening the company's approach to talent management and workforce development.
Ling will oversee people management initiatives across VIG Re’s offices in Prague, Munich, and Paris.
The company said that the introduction of the chief people officer position reflects the evolving role of people management within the organization. Ling will focus on employee development and leadership engagement to support overall growth objectives.
Ling is an international human resources executive with experience in aligning people strategies with business objectives. Before joining VIG Re in 2025, he held leadership roles at ING Bank and NN Group, including head of HR NN Group and chief HR officer NN Turkey.
At VIG Re, Ling will lead strategic HR initiatives, emphasizing culture, inclusion, and innovation to support the company's long-term resilience and growth.
Ling said his focus will be strengthening the company’s people management framework, attracting and retaining talent, and enhancing employee engagement.
The company received a Great Place to Work certification last year, with the reinsurer highlighting that the certification reflects its efforts to create a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
Meanwhile, VIG Re also announced changes to its board of management aimed at enhancing the company’s strategic direction and operational performance.
