    If people realise that they could get £1000 damages per call the calling may stop.

    Perhaps we need solicitors to advise them of their rights to seek compensation against these firms? I'm sure that the GDPR will stop these activities once group compensation claims become the norm.

    It will just force the people who undertake these calls offshore where they are not governed by uk cold calling laws. To much money to be made.
