Those aged 71-80 spend an average of £1,125 per year on holidays

As for me, I started spending a lot more money on travel at the age of 65. This year at the age of 68, I will likely spend over $20,000 on travel. I advise people that they start spending money on travel in their early 60's rather than their 70's. The reason is stated in my latest book:

"Death often comes at a bad time."
    - from "Life's Secret Handbook"

As I keep telling my 72-year-old friend Forrest, "Time is running out."

According to a recent study, "The two most widely held retirement aspirations among respondents are traveling (62%) and spending time with friends and family (57%)." Fact is, time is running out for both aspirations.
