Nearly three months ago Neon Underwriting’s bloodstock team became part of new specialty lines insurer HDI Global Specialty SE. Now marine and transport class underwriter Martin Jackson (pictured) has also made the switch, joining HDI Global Specialty SE in London on May 20.
Appointed as head of aviation and space to succeed Tim Slade, the new recruit brings three decades of aviation underwriting experience to the role. In his previous capacity, Jackson oversaw his division’s expansion into aviation. He also served as global head of aviation at Aspen.
“Martin’s track record speaks for itself,” said Richard Taylor, member of the executive board of management and UK managing director at HDI Global Specialty SE. “He is well known in the London Aviation market and has an enviable reputation for writing consistently profitable books of business.
“I am confident in his ability to continue this diligent, technical, and profitable approach to underwriting, as we continue to grow our specialty business.”
A joint venture of Hannover Re and HDI Global SE, HDI Global Specialty SE became operational on January 01, 2019.
Meanwhile for Mats Westerborn, managing director for HDI Global Specialty SE in Scandinavia, the key arrival will be a valuable resource in the ongoing growth of the company’s global book of aviation and space business. Westerborn’s branch is the main hub for aviation in the group.
