Chubb has appointed Emma Walker (pictured) as head of aerospace for Chubb Global Markets – Chubb’s London Market wholesale and specialty business, which includes its Lloyd’s platform.

As head of aerospace, Walker will be responsible for managing and developing the growth of Chubb’s global aerospace portfolio. She will be based in London and report to Chubb Global Markets chief underwriting officer and Chubb Lloyd’s Syndicate 2488 active underwriter Robert Wilson.

Walker previously served as senior underwriter of aviation for Chubb’s operations in EMEA. She joined Chubb in 2006 as an assistant underwriter. Walker has held a variety of underwriting and management roles across the business. Prior to joining Chubb, she spent six years broking aviation risks in the London Market.

“This is a fantastic appointment both for Emma and Chubb and a real demonstration of the talent we have within our business,” commented Robert Wilson. “Emma is well known and highly respected within the London Market and beyond for her drive, expertise and understanding of the many and complex risks that comprise aerospace, making her perfectly placed to lead our team as they continue to grow this important line of business.”

In June, Chubb shook up its EMEA team with the appointments of Sara Mitchell as division president of Continental Europe, Middle East and North Africa and Mark Roberts who succeeds Mitchell’s previous role as division president for the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa. It was also around this time that Robert Wilson was tapped to serve as chief underwriting officer for Chubb Global Markets and active underwriter of Chubb’s Lloyd’s Syndicate 2488.
