Senior aviation underwriter rises to head position for the UK

KLM alumnus Neil Dave (pictured), who made the switch to insurance in 2004, has moved up at HDI Global Specialty as UK aviation and space head.

“We are pleased to announce Neil Dave has been appointed as head of aviation and space for the UK,” said Rafael Rebitzky, managing director at HDI Global Specialty’s UK branch.

“Since joining the team, we have been impressed by his capability in contributing to the management of our aviation portfolio, particularly in deductible business and aviation war, but also by his drive and professionalism.”

Dave – whose credentials include time spent at Marsh and MS Amlin – came onboard the specialty lines insurer in November 2020 as senior aviation underwriter. Prior to joining HDI Global Specialty, he had worked not only in London but also in Singapore.

“This appointment will strengthen our proposition and the innovative risk solutions we offer to the London market,” added Rebitzky, whose camp said Dave “has played a key role” in driving the team’s underwriting discipline and business strategy.
