Specialist motor insurer ERS has raised more than £6,000 for partner charities London’s Air Ambulance and Wales Air Ambulance.

The fundraising came by way of charity trek challenge “TrekFest The Beacons,” which took place last month and featured the Brecon Beacons. The ERS contingent was made up of 25 employees who took on the 50km endurance course to burn a combined total of 175,000 calories.

ERS head of third-party damage Terry Saunders came second by finishing the challenging route in seven hours and one minute.

Commenting on the initiative, ERS human resources director Lauren Edwards stated: “I was honoured to take part in this year’s TrekFest challenge with a 25-strong team of what can only be described as relentlessly determined and brilliant people.

“The camaraderie and support shared among this team before, during, and after the event was second to none and I was blown away that we were able to raise over £6,000 for the London and Wales Air Ambulances.”

Edwards said the two charities are very important to ERS and that it’s truly admirable to have the insurer’s staff show “such support and dedication” to these causes.
