It was another successful funding raise round for property claims specialist, Qlaims.

The company has chalked up another £1 million from its second round of seed funding, led by West Hill Corporate Finance – taking its total to £2.3 million. Now it plans to use the money to accelerate its video streaming platform and claims advocacy insurance cover.

The company, which includes tech provider QlaimsTech, and MGA Qlaims Insurance, is already being used by brokers and now, according to CEO Malcolm Harvey (pictured), it wants to “become an integral part” of the new norm for working.

“The successful close of this fundraise is testament to the strength of the company’s proposition and its team,” he said. “Since lockdown we have experienced a surge of intermediaries keen to take up our offer of free video-streaming.

“We are pleased to see so much interest in Qlaims Insurance and its newly updated loss recovery insurance, which forms part of the industry’s response to the FCA’s requirement to improve the customer claims journey. This, together with recent events, highlights the benefit of having a professional loss adjuster present their case to insurers and advocate on their behalf.”
