After being at the helm of insurance broker Realty Insurances Limited for 21 years, Graham Salmon is retiring at the end of the month and will be succeeded by new managing director John Dilley (pictured).

“I am excited to take up the role of managing director of Realty Insurances,” stated Dilley, a Willis and Marsh alumnus whose insurance career spans nearly four decades. “It is a fantastic business, with a great team and a lot of potential. I look forward to building on its reputation for excellent service standards to take the business to the next level.”

Based in the West End of London, Realty Insurances is part of Grosvenor – an international organisation involved in urban property, food & agtech (agriculture technology), rural estate management, and activities supporting philanthropic initiatives.

The Chartered insurance broker’s incoming boss, who specialises in real estate coverage, has been running his own insurance consultancy since 2018.

Commenting on the leadership change, Realty Insurances chair Nick Scarles had this to say: “When it was first formed in 1950, Realty’s purpose was to provide insurance brokerage services for Grosvenor’s London properties in Mayfair and Belgravia, supporting the company’s diversification into international markets ever since.

“Today, over 50% of Realty’s business is focussed on servicing a wide range of external real estate clients, growing its client base and market reputation for outstanding service and quality under Graham’s leadership. We are deeply thankful for his contribution and wish him well in his retirement.”

“I am delighted that John Dilley has chosen to join Realty to guide the business through its next phase of development,” said Scarles. “His proven track record brings experience and strategic vision to help us develop and grow the business further.”

Salmon’s successor is coming onboard on April 01.
