Leeds-headquartered Gauntlet, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019, has established a southern office – tapping former Wrightsure associate director Mark Monk (pictured, right) as the appointed representative (AR) principal accelerates its bus and coach insurance offering.

Monk, whose 30 years of industry experience includes handling a client portfolio comprising a book of business worth £1.3 million, will head the Gauntlet Hallmark office in Orsett and serve as an AR of the commercial insurance broker.

“This is an exciting career move and I am relishing the responsibility of introducing Gauntlet’s brand and impressive broking capacity to new bus and coach operators in the south, while also being part of an AR network that performs at the highest level and which delivers on its promises, hence the name Gauntlet Hallmark,” commented the key arrival.

“I relish the fact that Gauntlet sets the bar so high and has no time for complacency or less-than-exceptional service delivery from its team. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that? Being part of the group’s impressive brand growth, in such a pivotal position, was simply an irresistible proposition.”

Meanwhile Gauntlet Group managing director Roger Gaunt (pictured, left) noted that they expect to see the Essex-based bus and coach team grow to around three people by the end of 2019, with other types of risk also being managed from the new office.

“We are delighted to have Mark on board,” said Gaunt, who believes the expansion will be a major development in the company’s silver anniversary year.

“He brings with him three decades of experience in the bus and coach sector, making our cumulative years in the industry a huge 55! With our shared insight into the market and dedication to doing the best for all passenger transport clients, bus and coach operators could not be in better hands.”
