New brand Dualdrive, a trading name of MSL Vehicle Solutions, has been rolled out to cater to both approved driving instructors (ADIs) and potential driving instructors (PDIs). It is part of independent collective Drive Further.
The group, which provides legal expenses insurance as well as assistance and claims services, is offering a fresh and flexible leasing proposition designed to get customers on the road in a week. Dualdrive employs former ADIs not only to gain real insight into the driving instructor market but also to have longstanding relationships with the likes of vehicle manufacturers and industry bodies.
“The UK’s 39,500 driving instructors have very specific needs, and when we reviewed the market, we realised that service providers have not kept pace,” said Dualdrive’s head of business Dan Tattersall.
“Dualdrive has been created to give our customers a 2020s proposition now. It is the best value for money dual control leasing offer in the market.”
Tattersall added that they want to incentivise customers to stay rather than penalise them for leaving. Among Dualdrive’s targets are ADIs who tend to shop around.
“We’re encouraging our customers to talk to us so that we can give them an individual service that is highly flexible,” noted the Dualdrive executive. “For example, we have a number of different funding solutions for them, and service and delivery processes that fit around our customers’ busy lives.”
PDIs, meanwhile, will be afforded “a unique deal.”
“There were 3,500 PDI applications last year but until now they’ve been treated the same as ADIs, which we don’t think is right,” he commented.
“We are offering PDIs shorter leasing periods and we don’t require an upfront security deposit. This saves them hundreds of pounds in upfront costs so they can focus on passing their qualification period in the knowledge help is available to manage their cashflow.”
Tattersall stated further that while they have built a strong reputation with MSL Vehicle Solutions, “Dualdrive takes the concept of personalised service to a whole new level.” He believes the business will be “the brand to watch” in the market.
