AXA XL names UK head of downstream and power

Peter O’Neill has been promoted to UK head of downstream and power at AXA XL.

The Marsh and Aon alumnus came onboard AXA XL in 2014 as an energy underwriter. He succeeds Peter Welton, who became UK head of energy last October.

Effective immediately, O’Neill will manage all aspects of AXA XL’s underwriting operations in the UK for downstream energy and power.

“I am delighted that Peter will be taking on this role and have every confidence that his high level of technical expertise and knowledge will further strengthen our UK energy business,” said Welton.

“His promotion is also a testament to the depth of talent we have here at AXA XL.”
