AA strikes digital household claims deal

The AA has revealed a new partnership with specialist claims data and technology provider Synergy Cloud for a new SaaS claims platform to handle its household claims. The platform will allow the insurer to manage its claims in-house, providing direct links with supply chain partners and customers through a central omnichannel sign-in.

The five-year contract is the first big win for Synergy Cloud since it was introduced to the market as a separate company by property claims specialist Claims Consortium Group in January 2021. The provider’s modular claims platform seeks to enable all the parties in a claim to access, analyse and action all claims and data in one place – providing complete transparency and control.

By allowing insurers to link directly with their supply chain partners, Synergy’s end-to-end configurability ensures insurers can easily manage the entire claims process, from policy application, to customer service, to data analysis, to application. The software is designed to be easily customised for any business requirements.

Commenting on the deal, Gary Barker (pictured immediately above), claims director at The AA noted that the product created between the insurer and provider offers something new to the UK home claims market.

“[That is] a system that provides a completely common platform for customers, suppliers and claims handlers alike, digitally-enabled, incorporating the latest video technology and cloud-based but which is not ruinously expensive,” he said. “Synergy Cloud is a first-rate provider and we are very excited to be working with them and proud of what we have produced together.”

Adding to this, CEO and founder of Synergy Cloud, Jeremy Hyams (pictured top) said the collaboration with the team at the AA had been “phenomenal”. The AA team is constantly challenging the status quo in a bid to provide the best solutions to their customers, he said, and this new system rewrites the way claims are processed.

“Their mindset and approach is really innovative,” he said, “and it has been an absolute pleasure working with them to provide a technology-based solution for their household claims management.”
