UK-based insurtech Neos is busy forging partnerships.

Hot on the heels of its two new deals in the US is the start-up’s collaboration with the Royal Dutch Touring Club (ANWB) in the Netherlands. The alliance is at the centre of ANWB’s “Safe from Home” home insurance proposition, which combines coverage with security packages and services.

Via an app, policyholders will be able to remotely monitor their home while on holiday. Installed at no cost to the insured, the safety package features two motion sensors and two water sensors as well as a camera which is sensitive to movement and sound. Users are notified when possible damage or theft is detected.

“Every year we get more than 900 reports of water leaks, making it one of the most common damages in the house,” noted ANWB spokesperson Klaas Kregel. “To quickly identify and reduce the risk of these damages happening in the first place, we have developed the Safe from Home package.

“Our partnership with Neos has been crucial in helping us deliver a first-class service to our customers, as, should any damage occur, customers will be able to schedule an emergency repair remotely via the smartphone app.”

ANWB, which has an emergency centre, said its research found that water damage at home is 20 times more common than burglary and also 13 times more common than house fires in the Netherlands.

Commenting on the new tie-up, Neos chief executive Matt Poll pointed to the organisations’ shared drive to innovate and create further value for customers.

“We constantly strive to deliver above and beyond expectations and are always developing our safety package to provide customers with added home security and peace of mind,” added Poll.
