Tracey Paul, who previously served as chief of staff for Dame Louise Casey on the review of community cohesion and extremism, has been tapped by Pool Re to address low terrorism insurance take-up.

Appointed to the newly created role of chief strategy and communications officer, Paul will be in charge of engaging stakeholders and raising awareness. Her over two decades of strategic communications experience involved a series of senior roles in the Labour Party.

Prior to joining Pool Re, the seasoned executive was the head of stakeholders and communication for the Ministry of Housing and Local Government’s Grenfell Tower Building Safety Programme.

“We’ve been constantly innovating at Pool Re, trying to keep ahead of the evolving terrorist threat,” commented Pool Re chief executive Julian Enoizi. “However, challenges remain: awareness of the terrorism threat and insurance penetration remain low, particularly among SMEs and outside cities or big towns.

“To overcome this, we need a clear, long-term strategy and productive engagement with all of our stakeholders. Tracey will be instrumental in this. She joins with an exceptional track record of developing and articulating strategies in order to find common ground across a broad range of stakeholders.”

Effective immediately, Paul will report to Enoizi.
