Aston Lark, a rapidly growing insurance broker backed by Goldman Sachs but soon to be acquired by Howden, has continued its expansion within the healthcare industry by acquiring Healthwise Group ltd (Healthwise).
Founded in 1993 and based in Dudley in the West Midlands, Healthwise provides private medical insurance and other employee benefits solutions.
Healthwise commercial director Paul Swanson commented that many parties had been in touch with them to acquire the company over the years, but Aston Lark “stood out as a great future home for our clients.”
“They offer vast expertise across a wide range of insurance products, including all areas of employee benefits, while still providing a highly personal service, replicating our own business model. We can now support all our clients’ insurance needs as part of the combined group facility,” Swanson said.
Healthwise managing director Bob Grindley added: “We’re delighted to be joining Aston Lark and are excited by the prospect of expanding our operation in Dudley.”
Aston Lark group CEO Peter Blanc said the Aston Lark team was delighted to welcome the Healthwise team to the company as it continues its employee benefits growth strategy – with its purchase being the second healthcare acquisition of 2022.
Its first healthcare acquisition of the year was Phoenix Healthcare (UK), a leading independent UK broker and adviser that provides holistic specialisation across all aspects of corporate healthcare provision.
Commenting on Aston Lark’s growth, Blanc said: “The last year has been transformational in the EB space, and the addition of Healthwise will further allow us to broaden our offering to our personal and business clients.”
