Aston Lark Ireland, a Howden Broking Group business, has acquired Sparrow Insurances Limited for an undisclosed sum.

“I am delighted to officially welcome our new colleagues at Sparrow Insurances to Aston Lark,” said Aston Lark Ireland chief executive Robert Kennedy (pictured). “Michael, Eilish, Sharron, David, and their experienced and high-calibre team have established a brilliant business, strong reputation, and excellent growth credentials, delivering exceptional service to their clients for over 20 years.

“And what really tops everything off is that their culture and ethos perfectly align with Aston Lark, making them a fantastic addition. We look forward to supporting further growth and success for everyone at Sparrow Insurances, further enhanced as part of Howden.”

Kennedy highlighted: “We continue to build momentum in Ireland, and this acquisition is another boost to our ambition of becoming Ireland’s leading independent insurance broker.”

With offices in Portlaoise, Blanchardstown, Nenagh, and Thurles, Sparrow Insurances offers commercial and personal insurance, as well as life, pensions, and investment products.

Sparrow Insurances managing director Michael Sparrow commented: “With the fast-changing landscape within the broker market, Eilish and I, having considered all the options, chose Aston Lark, now part of the Howden Broking Group, as the best home for our business.

“Most importantly, it was very clear from our discussions with Robert that Aston Lark and Howden share the same culture and values, with integrity at the core of their business. We believe they will be the best partners for our clients and afford staff excellent career opportunities for the future.”

The managing director also expressed confidence that, with Aston Lark’s backing, Sparrow Insurances will continue to provide the highest levels of client service while enhancing the company’s product range.

“We look forward to an exciting future as part of Aston Lark as we grow and develop our business,” added Sparrow.
