The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has a new initiative designed to improve health and wellbeing in the workplace, and Ecclesiastical is leading the pack as the first insurer to sign up.

“Our resources covering health and safety are some of our most frequently viewed webpages and we have had great take-up of our free seminars,” noted Huw Andrews, principal risk management consultant at Ecclesiastical.

“We’re committed to doing everything possible to help our customers protect people and buildings that are so vital to the work they do, as well as giving them the tools and guidance they need to respond to risk in a proportionate way while balancing insurance requirements.”

Supporting HSE’s ‘Helping Great Britain Work Well’ strategy, the Gloucester-based specialist insurer – whose clientele includes charities, churches, heritage property owners, private art collectors, and schools – has several ongoing risk management guidance projects for customers and brokers.

Ecclesiastical’s free national training seminars on health and safety, for instance, have drawn hundreds of attendees across six sessions, with further seminars to be held this year.

“We’re very proud of the risk management advice we provide to our brokers and customers,” said Andrews.

Signing up to the HSE strategy allows organisations to share case studies and best practice. Themes include promoting broader ownership of health and safety in Great Britain, tackling work-related ill health, simplifying risk management, and anticipating emerging challenges.
