Royal Bank of Scotland Group appoints two new CROs
Royal Bank of Scotland Group has named Vanessa Bailey as the chief risk officer of Ring-fenced Bank, Reuters reports.

The group ring-fenced its retail banking operations in April, as part of ring-fencing rules in the UK designed to protect taxpayers during a financial crisis.

Bailey, currently the interim chief risk officer for NatWest Markets, RBS’s investment bank, is expected to start her new role on September 03.

The bank has also named Jeremy Arnold as the chief risk officer for NatWest Markets, also effective September 03. The moves come after RBS appointed a new group-wide chief risk officer earlier this month, who joins the bank from rival firm HSBC.

CRO at Irish bank headed for international role
Irish bank Permanent TSB Group has revealed that its group chief risk officer is to step down in the coming months to take up a senior finance position in the Irish operation of an international bank, The Times reports.

Stephen Groarke, who is also an executive director of Permanent TSB, will step down from the board when he leaves. Groake joined the company as head of group finance in 2012 and was appointed as chief risk officer in April 2016.
