Sue Woolterton, who joined brokerage giant Marsh in 1987, is taking on a newly created role in Norwich.

The Marsh veteran spent five years in the company’s London office before returning to Norwich in 2002 to oversee the specie team. Most recently, she managed the regional office network and served as head of the financial and professional practice’s portfolio placement group.

Now Woolterton has been appointed as head of specialties for Norwich – the risk management firm’s largest UK location outside of London. She will be in charge of the development of Marsh’s UK specialties division in the city, which covers marine, energy, aviation, construction, real estate, financial lines, and international wholesale placement.

“I am excited to take on this newly created role and lead Marsh’s specialties business in Norwich,” commented Woolterton. “The city is renowned as one of the largest insurance clusters in Europe, and I look forward to further enhancing Marsh’s capabilities, to the benefit of our clients.”

“Sue has extensive experience in leading the development and placement of innovative insurance programmes that help protect our clients from the increasingly complex range of risks they now face,” said Moody. “Under Sue’s leadership, our specialties division in Norwich will continue to deliver the outstanding service our UK and international clients deserve.”
