In just the four years that Ross Lewis has been in the insurance industry, he has already earned two promotions within a two-year span, most recently promoted to managing director at Professional Insurance Agents Limited (PIA). At PIA, Lewis developed and implemented a strategy that grew a poorly performing book of business by over 500% in less than three years; something Lewis remains highly proud of as “it helped our clients access broader coverage and better rates”, he says. In addition, he developed PIA’s broker network in the UK and internationally, helping brokers initiate and expand their online trading capabilities.
Currently, Lewis leads a team through a fairly complex field and hopes to achieve ISO 27001 compliance for PIA. He also manages a newly introduced online referral scheme with an insurer, which has enabled more clients to purchase insurance online. As one peer describes, “Everyone in the business has nothing but respect and admiration for Ross and he is constantly contributing to turn our company into an industry powerhouse, managing to do it while earning respect in the industry.”
Outside of insurance, Lewis enjoys running and racing for charity events and travelling the world to watch major boxing events.

“Dismiss the common perceptions of the insurance industry being dull, boring and usually call centre related. If you work hard, always find the time to network and learn from your mistakes, and you will have the foundations in place for a long and successful career and will have a great amount of fun in the process.”
