An insurance company exec swindled his own company out of more than half a million dollars in order to fund his own startup companies

Good solution, because government programs never have fraud or waste.

That is what you got out of that article? Single Payer? Because a thief stole some money from an insurance carrier we need to bankrupt our country (or our states one by one), wait six months to get surgery, put our community hospitals out of business and make being a doctor the same as being a mail carrier for USPS?, put the oh so efficient government in charge of our health care??!
Because somebody stole some money. Wow, that is the weirdest idea for single payer I have ever heard. But makes about as much sense as what a lot of proponents use to push it.

We need to reform our health care system the correct way. Government run programs never work. Remember the "lock box " for social security? What happened to all our money in that "lock box". As for health care just ask our Canadian friends why they come to the US for surgery? It seems that we need to create a system that is responsive to the people. Washington doesn't understand the needs of the 50 states. Each state can more appropriately address its individual health care needs. We need to decentralize government to adequately address our social needs.

This theft is not an isolted event. This happens every day in the health care industry.
Medicare is a single payor plan that works well but then all the rich leaches that run
the health insurance companies couldnt collect their MULTI MILIION DOLLAR salaries and bonus.

I trust government more than for profit health insurance conglomerates! I know the people that Benifit from the private sector will never feel this way because they Benifit from the current system, but at some point we need to look at the greater good and put our grandparents, parents and children first! Yes I will not make as much money, but neither will the healthcare CEO's-who by the way make a hell of a lot more than you and me! Go single payer:)

Medicare was defrauded of $272 BILLION. See the Economist:

Government is not the solution, government is the problem.

A Realist-Did you read the article? It says 98B (Medicare) 174B the private sector Healthcare. And this was presented from organizations that want to kill Medicare and only go private. (may or may not be true) but everyone else gets away with "Fake News" so why not me! All joking aside put your personal wallets away and think of the greater good! Every 1st would country has single payer why not the US? Oh yea Money!

Progressive Democrats want us all (Except them) on the public trough. It's called Socialism, and it's the ultimate goal
of left wing nut cases who teach in our colleges, and are voted in high public offices by deceived voters. Go no further than Chicago, Detroit, and Oakland to see the fruits of their labor.
