Foremost Insurance Group, a Farmers Insurance Group of Companies member, has announced that it will rebrand its auto arm as Bristol West.

A release said that the rebranding will be undertaken gradually over the next few months. Although the auto line will take a new name, Bristol West assured customers that everything else about it will remain the same. Foremost Insurance will continue to brand a variety of insurance products under its own name.

The rebranding is not without precedence; Foremost Insurance has already operated in a number of states under the Bristol West name.

“We believe the brand change will allow for better alignment of our customer service and claims handling operations, which will ultimately enhance the customer experience for Foremost and Bristol West policyholders,” said Bristol West president Eric Kappler. “We look forward to continuing to provide drivers the high-level of customer service they have enjoyed under the Foremost brand, while offering a competitive auto product to new customers.”

Bristol West’s policies will continue to be offered by independent agencies throughout the US, a release said. The company is communicating transition information with customers and will continue to notify insureds and independent agents as the rebrand rolls out.
