Global Special Risks (GSR) – an upstream energy risk-focused managing general underwriter subsidiary of RSG Underwriting Managers – has appointed a new team of directors.

Helen Tarr has been named director of GSR; she was most recently serving as senior vice president and operators extra expense underwriting manager. Tarr is joined by Connie Garrett, Justin Jenkins and Jeremy Fyhn – each has been named an associate director.

“I am proud to introduce Global Special Risks’ new team of directors. They each have a remarkable amount of experience and knowledge operating in a complex class of business, and I am excited to have them at the helm of GSR,” commented Trident Marine Managers (TMM) managing director Martin Hayes.

“Helen has been with GSR since 2002 and has been a crucial part of GSR’s growth and development over the past two decades. After watching her tremendous career, I couldn’t be more pleased to have her step into this role as director,” said TMM managing director Michael Johnson.

Johnson added that the associate director appointments – Garett, Jenkins, and Fyhn – are experienced underwriters who have constantly displayed their expertise in the field, and are perfect additions to the GSR leadership team.

Both GSR and TMM were consolidated in November to form a new marine and traditional energy practice for RSG Underwriting Managers.
