MetLife names head of Global Employee Benefits business

MetLife names head of Global Employee Benefits business MetLife has appointed executive vice president James Reid to head its Global Employee Benefits (GEB) business, the company has announced. In that role, Reid will be responsible for accelerating GEB’s growth through partnerships with MetLife’s regional offices and growing relationships with financial institutions, brokers and consultants in the sector.

Reid has more than 25 years of experience in health and employee benefits, as well as P&L ownership. He joined MetLife in 2012 and has held several leadership positions in the company’s US Group Benefits organization. Under Reid’s leadership, the US team has partnered with IBM to create a first-of-its-kind quote-to-claim platform and prior to joining MetLife, Reid spent more than 20 years at Aetna.
