Property and casualty broker NFP has announced the appointment of Lauren Kim (pictured above) as managing director of the financial institution group (FIG), which is part of its specialty business.

As head of FIG, Kim will work on advancing NFP’s solutions to aid financial institutions to mitigate risks, while also aligning capabilities and expertise within the FIG team.

Henry Lombardi, NFP’s executive vice president, property and casualty, said he was excited to see Kim take on the leadership of an important segment of the company’s P&C business.

“Our focus as we build a leading specialty business that centers on our people and teams, and Lauren exemplifies this through her deep knowledge of the financial institutions' space,” he said. “In addition, her understanding of complex and evolving risks drives her ability to create the insurance and legal solutions clients need.”

Kim joined NFP in July 2020 as senior vice president, legal and technical leader, FIG. She also served as the financial institutions claims practice leader at QBE North America, and practiced law at Wilson Elser before that. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and communications from Wheaton College and Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Aside from Kim’s appointment, NFP also announced that Marc Tauber, senior vice president, will be leading FIG’s broking and advisory team. Additionally, Patrick O’Neill, senior vice president, is set to lead large accounts while Justin Corey, senior vice president, will be heading up business development.

“I’m thrilled to lead our Financial Institutions Group and utilize my experience and vision to elevate the value we provide to clients,” said Kim. “We have an outstanding team in place, underscored by our incredible brokerage unit with Marc, Pat and Justin. Together we will expand access to FIG’s insight and solutions and help financial institutions navigate an increasingly challenging environment.”

Last week, NFP also announced the appointment of John Ferreira as senior vice president and professional liability practice leader within the management, cyber and professional liability practice.
