QBE North America has announced a partnership with LawyerGuard, a Florida-based program manager, to provide professional liability coverage to lawyers and address the unique legal malpractice exposures faced by law firms.

The program focuses on firms with one to 100 attorneys, targets multiple practice areas, and provides a broad range of coverages in most states (excluding Alaska, New Hampshire, Maine, Oregon and Vermont).

“This partnership with LawyerGuard utilizes QBE’s ability to leverage its specialized expertise and quickly develop innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Erin Fry, senior vice president of specialty and casualty programs at QBE North America. “Together with LawyerGuard, we look forward to helping our customers protect against the growing number of malpractice risks that they face.”

Kevin J. Sullivan, managing director of LawyerGuard, commented: “We’re thrilled about our new partnership with QBE. This will give us the opportunity to provide our agents and brokers with what they’ve been asking for: an even better defense firm program (which continues to be the only lawyers professional liability insurance program sponsored by DRI – “The Voice of the Defense Bar”), along with a much broader appetite and coverage offering for non-defense firms. This exciting change underscores LawyerGuard’s commitment to deliver the best solutions possible for our clients.”
