International re/insurance group Aventum has announced the promotion of John Eldridge (pictured above) to the position of managing director.

This newly established role places Eldridge at the helm of the group’s day-to-day operations, with a special focus on coordinating the central functions of the group. His role is integral to supporting the ongoing global expansion of Aventum’s re/insurance MGA, Rokstone, and its specialty broking platform, Consilium.

Eldridge, who joined Aventum in 2020 as chief commercial officer, has a substantial background in the insurance industry. His experience spans over 15 years in various leadership positions, including managing director roles at Canopius UK Specialty and Coleman Insurance Brokers, as well as head of operations at HSBC Insurance Brokers.

“My role as MD is to facilitate and orchestrate, particularly the internal workings of the group, as we embark upon the next phase of the journey. Our ambitions center around quality rather than scale; being the best solution and service provider in our selected markets, and most enjoyable and inspiring place to work,” Eldridge said.

Eldridge’s promotion follows two key C-suite appointments made by Aventum last year. The group appointed Robert Moorehead-Lane, former CRO of Aspen Insurance Group, as its CRO, and Hassani Jess, previously CTO of Simply Business, as its new CTO.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth across Aventum since we reorganized the group in 2021,” said founder and CEO David Bearman. “Growth has come as a result of our success, but growth on its own has never been the ambition.  Aventum is one of the very few genuinely independent, debt-free specialist insurance platforms of scale in the world, and our ambition to be the best in the industry burns bright. In this new role, John can take a bird’s eye view to coordinating our operation and accelerate our ambitious plans.”
