A subsidiary of H.W. Kaufman Group has entered into a partnership with ProSight Specialty Insurance.

The subsidiary, RB Jones, will become the exclusive administrator of ProSight’s marine solutions and excess energy niches. A release explained that RB Jones Marine will assume underwriting and servicing for the marine liability, marine excess, brown-water hull and excess energy placements. ProSight will continue to write marine lines of business as part of their differentiated all-lines offerings in other niches.

The transition takes effect September 15, 2019.

“Our strategic partnership with ProSight strengthens and adds to our expertise and capabilities in commercial marine and energy—diversifying our overall footprint,” said H.W. Kaufman Group corporate senior vice-president and board member Jodie Kaufman Davis. “The partnership will also expand cross-company business opportunities throughout the global Kaufman network.”

As part of the partnership, ProSight niche president of marine and energy Mark Engel will join RB Jones Marine as managing director. In his new role, Engel will oversee the operations and growth of the marine practice; he and his team will be based in the Greater New York area, reporting to Kaufman Davis.

Engle has nearly 20 years of experience; aside from his previous role with ProSight, he has served companies such as AIG and Marsh.

“Both RB Jones and ProSight are built upon deep industry expertise and delivering specialized value and innovation to its insurance brokers,” commented Engle.
