Willis Towers Watson’s roots date back nearly two centuries, when Henry Willis started his career as a merchant selling imported goods on commission in the UK in 1828. He then applied for membership at Lloyd’s in 1841, where he started to broker insurance. In 2016, Willis Group and Towers Watson merged to become Willis Towers Watson, which today is a major global advisory, brokering and solutions company with 40,000 employees across 140 countries.
