ACE Group to offer extended coverage to private companies

The insurer will now provide add-on coverage that previously required a separate policy

ACE Group, the property and casualty insurer operating in over 54 countries, has announced that it is extending privacy and network liability coverage to the Canadian private sector.

The company will now offer “full privacy coverage” to organizations, which was once only available through the purchase of distinct, standalone policy.

“ACE’s private company policy offers a flexible modular approach to purchasing management liability insurance, which already includes coverage options for D&O (directors and officers), employment practices, fiduciary and crime,” Bobbie Goldie vice president of ACE Professional Risk in Canada, said in a statement. “With the addition of a privacy and network liability option, ACE’s private company practice is the first to offer clients in Canada the benefit of full privacy coverage, without the need to purchase a separate policy.”

The coverage will provide such features as:
  • Covering the financial impact of a data breach or a company’s inability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Covering issues that arise as  the result of network security lapses, such as unsanctioned access to computers and tech systems
  • Covering the costs of an investigation resulting from a technology breach
In addition, this service will include access to ACE’s Data Breach Team, a group of experts who specialize in helping companies recover from cyber crimes, including professionals in law, PR, and information technology.
