Marino will be responsible for expanding specialty business lines for Ironshore’s global suite of products, serving the Oil & Gas, Mining, Chemical and Power Generation sectors.

“Energy production is recognized as being a driver of the Canadian economy,” said Primiani. “Building our regional team of industry experts ensures that Ironshore will be well-positioned to continue delivering comprehensive insurance solutions to this specialty sector of the marketplace.”

In leading the Canada Energy team, Marino will be joined by energy underwriter, Anthony Kapsimalis, who will augment the Ironshore Global Energy Property Practice Group, under the leadership of Nigel Jobson, based in New York.

Marino brings more than 25 year experience in the insurance industry with dedicated expertise in Energy lines of business, underwriting large global accounts and tailoring risk transfer and financing solutions for complex clients.  Prior to joining Ironshore, he led the global energy practice for AIG and RSA.  His breadth of experience in the energy industry also includes senior management positions with Swiss Re, KPMG, Canadian Pacific and Factory Mutual Group.

Kapsimalis most recently was an energy underwriter with RSA and GCAN Insurance Company over the prior six years.  His specialty experience has focused on development of operational property/equipment breakdown and construction insurance programs for mining, oil and gas, power generation, and chemical companies, underwriting Canadian as well as global risk exposure.
